After a brief hiatus and Kurt’s unfortunate retirement from the world of blogging, the Week in Rock Roudntable moved over to Jefitoblog and was rechristened as Chartburn. Head on over to this week’s installment for our tongue slathering of Eddie Money, the Pretenders, Johnny Van Zant and Morrissey, as well as yours truly making an embarrassing typo. Laughter abounds!

Where did all that Pretenders hatred come from? Granted they kind of lost their way in the mid-eighties, but their first few albums were great.
And as a huge fan of Diana Rigg era Avengers, I have to say that I hate that Pretenders video. It was all just a really poor (and confusing) imitation/parody that looked like no one in the video truely understood what they were mocking. At least until the very end where the actor who played John Steed (Patrick something…damn, why have I forgot his name!) shows up and Chrissy Hynde actually reacts to him in a Emma Peel-like way.
Maybe I’m just being too judgemental. Maybe I shouldnt say that the thing that upset me the most with that video was the outfit Chrissy Hyde was wearing…too eighties…they couldn’t find her something that Emma Peel/Black Canary jumpsuit? It would have looked cool!
Ok, I’ll shut up now…
